The Class of 2013 is the largest graduating class of troopers the Florida Highway Patrol has had in 13 years.

Seventy seven new troopers graduated from the agency's academy in Tallahassee on Thursday. They'll join more than 1,800 state troopers.

Following 23 weeks of training, the highway patrol honored new Trooper Kyle Viveiros with the Executive Director's Award for achieving the highest grade point average. Trooper Roberto Lopez received the Director's Award for demonstrating extraordinary courtesy and dedication during training.

During training, the recruits completed community service, which included donating blood and volunteering at Pyramid, which is an organization dedicated to helping those developmental disabilities.

This was the agency's 125th basic recruit class.
