Sheriff's Office Warns Of Scam Claiming To Be Deputies

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is warning people of a scam.

Someone is calling people claiming to be a deputy, either Capt. Patrick Johnson or Lt. Michael Gauger, from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

This imposter is telling people that he/she or a member of their family has a warrant for their arrest, according to investigators.

The imposter goes on to say that the warrant can be fixed by giving them money.

The imposter threatens to send a deputy to the resident's home to have them arrested if they don't comply.

The sheriff's office said PBSO employees will not call for money or personal information.

If you receive a call like this or any other scam hang up and call 911.
