The U.S. Government Is Suing to Keep Beer Prices Low

Why I love this Country!
On Thursday, the U.S. Justice Department filed a lawsuit to stop two large beer companies from merging . . . and to keep beer prices LOW for all of us.

--Anheuser-Busch InBev . . .which is the company that makes Budweiser . . . wanted to merge with a Mexican beer company called Grupo Modelo.  They make Corona.
--Together, the two companies represent about 46% of beer sales in the U.S.  And the deal would be worth about $20.1 billion.
--But the government is worried that if one company controls nearly HALF of the beer market, it would reduce competition and let them raise beer prices.

--In other words, your government is fighting to keep beer prices low for all of us.  (--USA!
USA!  USA!)
