So obviously One Direction is huge right now. Their concert down here in South Florida is on Sunday, and everyone is pretty excited about it! I'm a Directioner myself (of course! what else would you expect?) and I found the most perfect video on YouTube. It's basically a love letter to the members of One Direction, made by YouTube beauty guru Gregory Gorgeous. He is basically me, in male form. He's actually WAY more fabulous and fierce than I am, and I'm kind of jealous about it. Here's the video:
Is Gregory Gorgeous not PERFECT?! How could One Direction ever say no to him after seeing this video??

Intern Marissa is in New York right now and I am sooo jealous! NYC is my favorite city! I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms because I haven't been since October. I made a little list for her of a few of the must-do things while in NYC:
Let me start off by saying that this probably won't be one of my normal blogs, where things are funny and light-hearted, because this is a serious subject. In case you guys didn't know, this is a video of a New York school bus monitor being bullied by middle school children until she cries. The whole purpose of the bus monitor's job (I don't think they have them down here in Florida) is to make sure that the driver is getting the children to their destinations safely, and to also make sure that other kids on the bus are not being bullied, which has always been a big problem, especially recently.
So this bus monitor, Karen, is sitting here being completely torn apart by these awful, terrible kids. They're calling her fat, lazy, sweaty, and even a rapist (!) at one point. They tell her they're going to break into her house and steal her things. They also tell her she should kill herself, not knowing that her own son had taken his own life ten years ago. So sad. She said in another interview that she is slightly hearing impaired, and didn't even hear most of the horrible things the kids said until she actually saw the video. This makes me SO angry because this woman did NOT deserve this kind of treatment. It is absolutely sickening to think that these kids could be so rude and disgusting to someone who is only trying to look out for their safety. It fills me with rage because I keep thinking about how awful I would feel if this was my mother or my grandmother who was being verbally abused by these little monsters.
I hope that these kids have to face the public now, and deal with the consequences accordingly. They should be judged as adults because if they think they're old enough to disrespect an adult to such an extreme, then they should be treated that way. A fund has been set up for Karen so she can retire and the last time I checked, there has been about $100,000 raised for her. I'm so happy that there are good people in the world who would help this woman.
I was definitely bullied in middle school... (also on the bus...riding the bus was definitely the worst!) but never EVER to this extent. What I'm wondering is- who is to blame for this? Is it bad parenting or just a complete lack of respect for adults on the children's part? All I know is that this kind of treatment is vile and nobody deserves to be bullied, which goes without saying. Let me know where you think the blame falls in this situation, and what you would do if you found out your child was participating in something like this.
Keep your head up, Karen.
