MythBusters went Hollywood recently to recreate the final scene in the 90's blockbust movie, 'Titanic' to prove that Leonardo DiCaprio's character, Jack, did NOT have to die.
He could have surivived!
Why?
According to the show, if Rose had taken off her life jacket and put it under the raft it would have given them enough buoyancy to keep both of them afloat.
According to Director, James Cameron, however, the show has it all wrong:
"I think you guys are missing the point here.The script says Jack died. He has to die. So maybe we screwed up and the board should have been a little tiny bit smaller, but the dude's goin' down.'"
